- Chilled Tomatillo-Tequila Soup (Dick has made this in the past; try to put most of the Tequila in the soup, not in the cook!)
- Cumin Carrot Soup with Cilantro Cream (good hot or chilled; a variation on the soup Dick served at last winter's "Final Exam"
