Art for Cow's Sake (May 16-17)

Marin Agricultural Land Trust's 12th annual Ranches & Rolling Hills Art Show & Sale takes place at Nicasio's Druid's Hall on May 16 and 17 (the weekend after Mother's Day). The show features over 200 works of art depicting West Marin by 43 artists from Marin County and Santa Barbara's Oak Group. MALT and the artists share equally in the proceeds from the sale of these works of art. (Click here to preview some of the art that will be in the show).

As of Friday, May 1st, a few highly-prized and hard to get tickets for the show's Preview Sale & Luncheon were still available. Preview attendees are admitted to the show at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 16, before it opens to the general public at 2:00 o'clock, and are served a gourmet lunch prepared with locally-grown organic food and accompanied by wines from Marin County vintners. (Dick will be pouring wine for Preview guests). The Preview affords a great opportunity meet the artists and to obtain a visual memory of Marin's scenic beauty to enjoy now and in the future. Cost is $175. Click here to register for the Preview Sale & Luncheon or call (415) 663-1158 (enter Extension 300 to leave a message if a MALT staff member is not available to answer your call).

After the Preview, the show opens to the general public from 2-5 pm on Saturday and from 10 am - 4 pm on Sunday, May 17. Admission is free and the sale of art (along with books, gift, and clothing items) continues during these hours. (Click here for directions to Druid's Hall in Nicasio).

Dick's wife, Cindy (on the left in this photo), has worked closely with MALT's Associate Director, Elisabeth Ptak, to produce the Ranches & Rolling Hills Art Show & Sale each year since 2004.
